Automated crop and straighten photos

This tutorial shows you a time-saving method on how to to automatically crop and straighten multiple scanned images.

Place as many photos as you can fit into your scanner and scan them. They will all appear in one large image in Photoshop once you've scanned them. From my image below, you can see that these photos were carelessly placed and all crooked.

Go to File » Automate and choose "Crop and Straighten Photos"

Now photoshop will automatically look for straight edges in your photos, straighten the photos and duplicate each photo into it's own document.

Tip: If you scanned a number of images but only want to crop/straighten certain images, simply make a selection around those images before you apply the crop and straighten function. This will only crop/straighten the images within the selected area.
